Close your eyes.

Breathe.

How can you not? We breathe approximately 21,000 times a day.

How many breaths are conscious? Probably none.

I’m only going to ask you for three. Three conscious breaths.

Do it now please, and then continue reading, if you feel like it, of course.

Now imagine that under your nose you place an object that gives off an aroma that you like. You’re sitting in your chair and you don’t have anything at hand that gives off a smell, but it doesn’t matter, imagine that you have THAT thing you like right under your nose; I’ll give you some ideas: your morning coffee cup, your avocado toast, a glass of special wine, a rose, a jasmine, that pot of lentils, a sprig of rosemary, the forest, that lingering perfume you used 20 years ago or the one you put on your children when they were little.

Have you chosen? Good.

Close your eyes again and imagine that aroma right under your nose.

Take three deep, intense, and very conscious breaths. Then, please continue reading.

I’m very glad you feel better. Because right now you probably feel more centered, more relaxed, and your level of well-being has risen a few points.

You’ve just had an aromatic experience at a mental level. Just ‘imagining’ the aromas has made your brain release oxytocin and that’s why you feel better.

Remember to smell your morning coffee, instead of drinking it quickly, or that glass of wine, or that delicious meal. Do it and I truly tell you that you’ll be about to discover a beautiful dimension that’s probably unknown to you.

An aromatic hug.

Yolanda.
